September 30th Update!
Okay...I have nagging injury after nagging injury. I am old. However, I am not stopping. I am feeling better than I have felt in years. Thanks for all your support and encouragements. I am thrilled to have my good friends Pete Findlay, Steve Root and Ron Hughes doing the race with me. I have a new video that I will post over the next few days. I set out a goal of raising 10k myself for PI by people sponsoring me. I have now reached just over the halfway point. Please continue to spread the word. We still need sponsors and runners/walkers. You can read more about how you can help here.

Toilet paper for ladies in prison.
Dear our faithful PI's Philanthropists!!!
We want to thank you for helping us to buy and distribute
the toilet papers for the ladies in prison!!!
One of the projects we have in Central Asia is "Iwas1ofu". Two
PI ladies give help to ladies who are drug addicts, alcoholics,
prostitutes, etc. They also visit women in prison. The biggest
need the women have in prison is toilet paper. Ladies from the
prison were begging for our help with this need. As usual our
PI ladies tried to find very good deals so...they were even
able to buy shampoo and laundry detergent for them. You
could not make the ladies happier! They were so thankful !
Because of you giving towards this need, women's lives have
changed very much. The women shared with our PI ladies
how much they want to change, and how much they want to
become just like our PI ladies and do only good things in life.
"Toilet paper" ministry is turning women's lives upside down
and helping them to become better people! Thank you so
much!!!

Mosquito screens for the Baby Orphanage!!!
Thank you so much Our dear PI Philanthropists for helping
us to distribute the mosquito screens for the windows. In
this particular country people do not have special screens
on their windows so our PI Dream Agents had to buy the
special material and cut it for each window.
Then our PI ladies found a man who put the screens on the window for free.
It is really awesome now. Babies do not have mosquito bites on their bodies
and flies no longer fly around them or into their food.

Young Philanthropists
We are very excited to share with you some great news!
A group of parents from Oakville shared with their children
about our orphan babies and how they do not have enough
baby formula to eat. They purchased bottles for formula, and
gave these bottles to their children to collect money in them.
They have been doing this for several months and every week
children were filling the bottles with coins. Children in Oakville
were so happy to be able to help babies in Central Asia. Folks,
can you believe these children gathered $1800 for formula!
These children from Oakville are real Philanthropists!!!
Babies are enjoying the baby formula!
Now that is what I am talking about!

The training continues...
The training continues...
It is official. I have a screw loose. As I did my 4km the other day it hit me..."I have lost my ability to make sound choices"! Lol. As many of you know I have given myself fully to training to run the 10k at the Road to Hope Race in Hamilton on Saturday, November 6th. (you can watch the news conference video here)
I am basically a week into training and have a website where you can follow my progress (http://www.10kfor10k.ca/), and see some videos that I am shooting from time to time. I have people asking me, "How can I help Sam?"....here are a few ways how...
#1 - Sign up to walk/run with us. You can do that here. (We have cool prizes that we are handing out...read about them here)
#2 - You can sponsor me to run the 10k or sponsor another runner. You can do that here.
See the training video updates....
Training Update #1 (with trainer Wendy Pauls)
Training Update #2
Training Update #3
Seriously...check them out. We need your help.
The stories of impact continue. We have some of the coolest people as Dream Agents and they are doing a terrific job.

What a special girl...
We continue to partner with Bill and Suzette Manassero in Haiti.
They oversee an orphanage with 47 children.
They recently got a new girl Christella.
Here is what Manasseros wrote about her:
Christella is a very special girl that has lived most of her
life on the streets of Port-au-Prince. She's a survivor.
Hard as nails. Crafty. A fierce competitor who loves to play.
Knowing more than she ever wanted to know about the ugly
side of life. But beneath the tough exterior is a sweet little girl
who is just trying to reclaim a lost childhood.
She seems quiet to the point of being shy.
Making eye contact is more an effort than a challenge.
A bigger challenge only to making her smile.
For a stranger - forget it! You'll have to try to break the
ice on your next visit.
We know little about her pre-MDL life. There is no family to speak
of but she claims they are out there somewhere. We found
her after she had shaved her head and was pretending to be
a boy to get into a special home for street boys.
When she was discovered a friend who was involved in the
program called and basically said, "She can't go back to the
street."
We know that most street girls would rather take up residence
in a person's home where they are regularly abused than to
subject themselves to the unknowns of sporadic and ofttimes
frightening abuse on the streets.
Even though we had no space at the girls home we took her
in and are so thankful we did!
I can't wait to meet Christella personally in December when
I take a team to Haiti!
We still have couple of spaces left in the team, so here is your
chance to join us!
Please click here to find out more about the trip to Haiti!

It's a party time!
We continue to have Birthday Parties for our children in
the Orphanages.
They are so exited about the parties and have already asked who's birthday
we will be celebrating next month.
The children can hardly wait for the parties.
The pictures tell it all!
Thank you so much for partnering with us at PI!
